- i am in love with this chapstick. that's saying a lot. i'm not a big 'chapstick' brand girl.

- have a new favorite shot: pineapple juice, grenadine, and vanilla vodka. so good.

- got a ten year present from work. didn't realize i received my coworker's. had the wrong engraving on the back. oopsie. guess i was super excited to open that ipad air!

- ben is so excited for christmas. he's counting down the days now that we're in single digits!

- think i need to start collecting gloves/mittens for ben. he lost one today. it was on mitten clips and he only walked outside to go to pee wee sports. not even for recess!

- it was snowing this evening and my mom was going to finish her christmas shopping. showed her amazon. she was done in 5 minutes. and she said i'm her favorite daughter. {ha!} ;)

- as much as i hate the craziness of december, i love that i'm getting to spend time with friends that i don't usually get to see. so thankful that everything fell on different weekends for the first time in years!

- i need to purge my closet. again. just did it when melie was born. think i'm going to start a home organizing/cleaning project in the new year. seemed to work well when i did it a few years ago.

- melie is starting to laugh spontaneously. so fun.

- cookie exchange and pot luck at work today. why do people call it a carry in? any who. my taco dips were a hit. made two hoping to bring some home and they were both gone!

- thinking wine is on the dinner menu for tonight. maybe with some popcorn. it's been a doozy at work.
- amelia is four months old tomorrow! hopefully, her update won't be too far off. yay for the daily postings to catch up!

ten on tuesday 10.29.13

- had every intention to blog last night. sat on the couch and passed out. thankfully, miss amelia napped with me. she's a champ!

- spoke with a lady on the phone for a prior authorization, her name was kewpie. i thought that was just a doll. poor lady.

- miss amelia is noticing chewbacca. she's trying so hard to catch him. so funny since she isn't really mobile!

- i have been so slacking that i haven't been keeping tidbits in my phone and that makes this list of ten so much harder.

- love it when you find out that there is a recall on your car when you take it in for an oil change. surprise!

- american horror story: coven. obsessed. and i would like to be reincarnated as a witch. just saying. ;)

- nick has joined in on my candy crush addiction.

- i don't know how people can just drink shakes for their meals. i need to chew to feel full. wait, that's not true. i can eat soup. maybe i need to eat my shakes with a spoon and not a straw?

- new favorite creamer. so good.

- decorated my work pumpkin.... finally. decided on nail art at the last minute. will share tomorrow. but now i'm itching to do a real nail art project. oh jamie... pinterest time! ;)

ten on tuesday 10.1.13

- whenever my mom cooked chili, when i was younger, i made her pick all of the beans out of mine before i would eat it. now, i'll eat beans. not sure what my deal was back then... now, when i make chili, ben won't eat it because, 'i don't like beans.' i think i'm experiencing bean karma. ;)

- why must britney insist on putting b!tch in all of her songs? seriously. so annoying. you would think a mom of two young boys would think twice about it... says the girl who cusses like a trucker.

- totally digging the tune in app. we used to be able to stream music at work through our computers. since we went to electronic records we can't. have gone through so many music apps. loving this one. maybe it's just because i can listen to wxrt all day now!

- my cat keeps attacking ben's window clings. poor beaners. gets so frustrated when kitty keeps pulling em down!

- had to update to a hella password at work. so hard to concentrate now when i log in! used to be second nature... not anymore!

- can't wait to see don jon with the girls! hoping the schedule allows for it next week.

- miss melie is so darn cute. loving the baby smiles. and she's sleeping for 8-9 hour stretches! working on that stretch being from about 8-5ish!

- last weekend for the drive in. trying to decide if we should go one last time.

- lost in fantasty football this week. wah! and it was to nick! double wah!

- 10,000+ steps on my fitbit today. boom! now only if i can get exercising back in my crazy schedule. last week was bad, hoping now that i've been back at work for almost a month, it'll be easier to get up earlier to squeeze in some time before i start the day. we shall see.

ten on tuesday 9.17.13

- happy to say that the exercising is still going strong. kind of surprised myself since i thought it would be a bit much with starting work too. taking it in baby steps. finding myself with more energy!

- first pint ride. i'm getting a new bike now. just saying.

- got my fit bit. i'm in love. totally makes me want to move more!

- how come miss amelia will sleep 6-7 hour stretches on the weekend and not during the week? murphy's law of parenthood?

- have gotten back into cooking again. feels good.

- i miss daylight.

- ben got two ribbons in swim class last week. so proud.

- going to a drug rep dinner meeting tomorrow. it has been years. bad nurse.

- trying to plan our halloween costumes. really thinking it will be the last year i can pull off a theme.

- we're famous! :)

ten on tuesday 9.10.13

- thinking i was overly ambitious to start training for a 5k the week i returned to work after maternity leave!

- ben is on an einy meiny kick. so cute. yet frustrating when i need him to decide in a hurry.

- ben also has been saying hip hooray. he tends to forget the second hip!

- was randomly telling a story at work and one of my coworkers was like, 'it is nice to have you back.' glad to know i liven up the work day! shortly after, one of the doctors said the same thing!

- going on a field trip with ben tomorrow. holy crumbs it's gonna be hot...

- miss melia is still cute as ever. even cute when she wants to be fed every four hours at night... i think it's easier this time because you know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. and that i know she's my last babe so i best enjoy every moment.

- think that nick and i are going to be spending monday evenings doing some sort of physical activity: bike rides or indoor volleyball. ;)

- my brother detailed my car this weekend. it looks so super shiny and awesome!

- ben takes milk {in a sippy} and cereal or a cereal bar to school in the morning. today nick accidently gave ben the milk from yesterday... ben took two sips and said, 'daddy, this tastes funny.' ew! and thank goodness he didn't have an upset stomach at school.

- hoping to find my back to work groove within the next few weeks. think it totally helped that i started getting up at an earlier time last week and cut out the daytime naps!

only 238!

not too bad considering i missed eight weeks of work! i really thought it would be way more. but then i heard there were computer and nipsco (energy company) issues. so they were without computers for maybe 3-5 days.

happy to be back but sad to be leaving my lady bug. ;)

ten on tuesday. 8.27.13

- meant to work on the hella fourth of july wip post yesterday, but i attacked my closet instead. {2 giant bags for goodwill! and that was just stuff i knew i didn't want. will go back through for ill fitting items in a bit. it's only been 6 weeks since baby, can't get too crazy!} yay for retired mom's wanting to watch miss melia for a few hours during the day so i can get stuff done before i go back to work.

- it's official. i go back to work 9.9. i'm excited yet sad.

- rode my bike this evening. 5+ miles in 35 minutes. i was impressed since it had been forever.

- i forgot how bad hybrid cars are when you have a baby. she wakes up every time the engine turns off and the battery kicks in.

- ben told nick he wanted some monsterella cheese. so cute.

- had a fly in the house and ben said, 'i'll get a tissue so you can get it momma.' explained to him that flies are tricky to catch, so he walked over to chewy and said, 'kitty. can you catch that fly for me?'

- so close to having chewbacca shaved. i cannot handle all this fur!

- started watching the league. thanks raquel! getting ready for my ff draft! i think nick is going to be in two leagues again this year. his draft is this weekend for the one and i don't think he's done any research.

- finally signed up for amazon mom again. subscribe and saved diapers, formula, and wipes. saved over 20% and i didn't have to go to the store. awesome!

- my mom comes back tomorrow. trying to figure out what project i want to tackle. i have two... maybe i'll be super productive and get both done... a girl can dream, right?

ten on tuesday 7.9.13

- baby bug's arrival countdown has entered single digits. zomg! i'm kinda going to start freaking out now.

- in all honesty, i'm more excited than freaked. especially since summer has finally decided to join us and i am hot!

- stumbled across this show yesterday. ben was obsessed. wanted me to fast forward through the commercials. love that we don't watch much live tv! kept asking what the name was... didn't want to tell him and have him go to school and tell them he watched 'oh shit' instead of 'oh sit' last night!

- wendy's has a new pretzel bacon burger. was pretty tasty. everything is better with pretzel bun/bread, right?

- have my pedicure and prenatal massage all set up for this weekend and next week. hoping she cooperates and i get to enjoy both before her arrival.

- two more days of work! looking forward to two days of maternity leave before baby bug arrives.

- excited about exercising. what is wrong with me?! clearly, being pregnant in this weather has messed with my mind. {also the bed rest in the beginning really limited what i could do the entire time.} so ready to be active.

- i ate an entire box of cereal in about a week. i could go years without cereal. refusing to buy another box. not sure it was the healthiest option! :)

- loving that ben is such a helper. hoping it stays that way in a week or two!

- cannot wait to see turbo. thinking that will be an august outing since it releases on baby's eviction date!

ten on tuesday 7.2.13

- ben recently watched cars 2. it had been ages. he laughed hysterically in some parts and nick and i couldn't help but laugh too.

- the official csection date has been obtained. t minus 2 weeks!

- debating opening an etsy shop... decisions, decisions. nothing like taking on a new endeavor 37+ weeks pregnant!

- hoping to have this blog preloaded with posts before baby... i think i can, i think i can.

- thinking i might make the 3rd and 4th blog holidays this year.

- saw an electrical company that had a pretty witty slogan, 'show us your shorts.'

- totally in love with both of starbucks new summer drinks: peach tea lemonade and orange refresher!

- ben started tumble bears at school. he's a fan. love that they offer extracurricular activities for the littles.

- love still working when i'm this pregnant. my patients are flabbergasted. and i get a kick out of those that i've known forever that will call me fatty to my face. makes me laugh. love that they can have a sense of humor with all they are going through and that they feel comfortable enough with us to do so. and then 5 minutes later, i can have another patient ask when i'm due and i say two weeks and they don't believe me and tell me how good i look. ;)

- on the other hand, it's not okay for your little brother to ask, 'were you this fat with ben?' awesome! ;) i do find it funny. i haven't gained a crazy amount of weight. i'm two weeks away from delivery. what do you expect?

ten on tuesday 6.25.13

- i know english is a hard language. but i'm loosing faith in this country's education. so irritated with people misusing words. there is a difference between past and passed. {complains the person who can't be bothered with caps and proper punctuation...}

- have been watching north america with ben. so fun to watch his reactions and to see him learn.

- so cute when ben comes up and kisses my tummy and says 'i love you baby.'

- am no longer on bed rest. can work but i have to go slow and take frequent breaks. if my symptoms return, then i'm on desk duty. hoping these pains stay away and we can make it a few more weeks!

- go blackhawks! two goals in 17 seconds. have to say, i was thinking there would be a game seven!

- cannot believe fourth of july is next week. holy cow does time fly!!

- ben asks for america cheese.

-had no computer access at work today. awesome when you used computerized charting. {yes, that was sarcastic.} however, we were able to move much more quickly without having to log into a computer all the time.

- a little irritated at the computer. it ate one of my weekend in picture posts. just when i think i'm making progress!

- hospital bag is half packed. yay!

- i could not work at a pain clinic. bless those who do.

- so excited that school is out for the summer in one more day. makes my communte a wee bit easier!

- we have ben watching sytycd. it's awesome when he gets up and dances along.

- purchased a few plants for our garden boxes and deck planters... hoping the weather cooperates and i can get them planted in the next few days. {poor ben was watering dead plants the other day!}

- got back from a walk on the beach with nick's mom's side of the family yesterday... gigi {nick's mom} said, 'i'm pooped.' ben turned to nick and said, 'daddy you go check her butt.' could not stop laughing.

- the new camera and phone and computer are all hooked up. hoping to get some blogging done tonight. yay for new electronics that will hopefully speed up what has gotten to be a super lengthy process, which is why i think i've dreaded doing them for the past few months.

- my girlfriends are the best. had a 'baby sprinkle' thursday. was surprised, contrary to their belief!

- and the above bullet, has made my baby list a wee bit shorter. feeling like i have a few things if baby bug decides to arrive early. which i'm not hoping for...

- love the new coffee mate girl scout creamers: thin mint and coconut caramel. surprisingly, i like the thin mint more!

- another new grocery favorite of the moment: jalapeno philadelphia cream cheese. yum. a bit spicy though, so be warned!

ten on tuesday 5.14.13

- why must body builders be orange? or that insanely dark brown?

- heard someone say that he 'bred his wife.' ew. really? she's not a horse.

- was trying to type aggressive. ended up singing that old high school cheer to figure it out. yeah, i'm a dork.

- had a patient tell me that her pixie from fannie may almost brought her to orgasm. seriously. what is wrong with people??! funnily enough, the lady sitting next to her replied, 'there's fanny may?'

- found a new breakfast of the moment: english muffin with tomato and avocado {a little salt and pepper}. totally tasty!

- i am beyond obsessed with my new app purchase. highly recommended. especially for $0.99!

- nick listened to our house voice mails today. the first message was from 2/18. oops!

- i dislike stinky people. especially when they should know better. and don't blame it on their smoking status. good hygiene is good hygiene regardless of their inability to smell.

- got a new camera for mom's day. need to figure out how to get it hooked up to the wifi. yay for easier photo sharing.

- i guess it's technology time in the pressner house. debating a new laptop. can't believe mine is 5 years old. it's dying a slow death and we're hoping to purchase before that happens.

ten on tuesday 5.7.13

- i dislike hash tags. i've only purposefully used one once. the other time it was automatically added for me.

- i think i'm officially a coffee snob. i can no longer stomach mc donald's coffee.

- wish i worked longer hours in the winter and shorter ones in the summer. ;)

- asked my patient if she had been experiencing any fever or chills. she replied, 'i had an egg mcmuffin.' what? seriously? thank goodness another coworker over heard. no one would have believed me. and she had to walk away because she was laughing so hard.

- speaking of patients, why must they cough on me? or any of us, for that matter. it's gross and germy. and you know better.

- ever since someone showed me this video, i can no longer listen to the song without laughing. if you're amused by it, there is a whole compilation of popular songs that features that darn goat.

- this peanut butter banana bread was pretty tasty. nick wasn't a fan. but he isn't a fan of bananas. took it to work and it was a hit. i didn't try it with the glaze.

- ben wouldn't try the above mentioned bread. he said he likes peanut butter on his jelly sandwiches and bananas by themselves. sigh.

- so nice to have my little man back to his old self.

- my desire to spring clean is in full effect. or maybe it's nesting. either way, cleaning makes me happy!

ten on tuesday 4.16.13

- slept through the night for the first time in months last night. so nice! i'm pretty sure having the windows open and the sound of rain helped. ;)

- the other day ben told me that the baby is getting big in there. i think he's gonna be surprised to see how big i actually get! {maybe a baby post this week?}

- i don't understand blocking things on wifi. like why block instagram but not facebook? strange.

- trying to figure out if i'm going to be brave, or crazy, enough to sign up for a 5k in november. will give me 7 weeks post op to prepare.

- nick went to kohls to use some of their 'kohl's cash'. the cashier told him he saved $75. he was a bit confused. he bought: a pair of adidas flips, a three pack of hanes tshirts, and a novelty tee. used the $50 cash he had {meaning he spent nothing}... would someone really have spent $135 on those three items?

- there is no such thing as chrome's disease. it's crohn's. seriously. medical people really should know this.

- ben and i were discussing what mommy and daddy do for work. he knows mommy is a nurse. and that daddy makes medicine to help people. pharmacist is a bit tricky! so when we reviewed that he was a pharmacist, he said, 'oh i like farms. and horses.' awesome!

- deadliest catch starts tonight. i haven't watched since captain phil died. not sure if i'm gonna do it...

- had to get new work shoes yesterday. was surreal being in a running store when some of 'their' own had just finished the marathon. such a sad world we live in today.

- convinced, okay asked, my friend to sew ben's closet curtains/drapes. she agreed! now i just have to hem the ones hanging over the window... i gave her my thread, so i get to wait a bit. but i am way less overwhelmed about hemming something that creating my own! yay good friends. 

ten on tuesday 4.2.13

- didn't even think twice about posting the news our growing family yesterday. completely forgot it was april fool's. it's legit. i swear. realized it when i saw crazy lohan tweeted about her 'pregnancy'.

- the blog sabbatical was refreshing. need to figure out how to take them more often without falling even further behind.

- started the day off at 805 asking if i could go home. i just felt like it was gonna be one of those days. sure enough, found out one patient has possible active tb {awesome}, another came in with a serious case of the shingles {not good for pregnant woman, not like tb is great for me either...}, a doctor found out he had appendicitis and was going in for surgery. just a strange day. quite a trifecta.

- were at bed bath and beyond a few weeks ago buying a new coffee machine. our keurig died. we were next to a bunch of cups with team logos on them. ben knew the bulls, sox, and bears. had to ask me what the red and blue c was! ha. guess we don't watch too many cubs games in this house.

- saw someone with light up easter lawn decorations. really?

- if i can see the lines of your underwear through your pants, you need bigger pants. but kudos for wearing underwear.

- there was a song on the radio and i made a comment about ludacris singing on it.. nick asked, well, who is this? rihanna? it was justin beiber! awesome. couldn't stop laughing.

- ben has actually slept in his bed. like twice! baby steps. and pictures on his room soon. i need to get in there and take pictures when it is light.

- and ben's birthday post will be done sometime this week. fingers crossed....

- was a little disappointed with the twix eggs. i was hoping for a bit more of the caramel-y center goodness. these chocolate covered marshmallows, however, were delicious. might be my favorite easter candy. ;)

ten on tuesday 2.25.12

- nick and i purchased an electric toothbrush. saw it at costco and couldn't pass up the deal. have discussed getting one forever. holy cow. that thing is serious. tickles the heck out of your mouth. definitely going to take some getting used to!

- have a mini getaway booked with the coopers!

- ben sleeps in a sleeping bag. hasn't sleep in his bed for months. well, minus like one night. when he climbs in at night, he tells me... 'i'm going to bed a caterpillar and i'm going to wake up a butterfly.' thank you eric carle.

- please, please no bad weather thursday. have an ikea trip scheduled woot!

- to follow up to last week's dunkin donut question: my coworker pointed out they sell dean's milk. ahhh...

- nick told ben to sit down it's time for breakfast, so ben sat on the floor where he was standing?! what is that? he knows we eat breakfast at the table!

- i'm not sure why but i always get cystic fibrosis and cerebral palsy confused. i know, i know. two completely different diseases. heck, i still confuse pink and yellow? and llamas and camels?

- working out the details for ben's party. invites soon!

- nick and i met with this woman, let it slip that i was a nurse. she then asked where. told her oncology and she said, 'ah a pessimist.' she's right. i encourage my patients but i'm always expecting the worst news possible.

- am really hoping that march doesn't storm in like a lion. february has been pretty darn hectic and i'm looking for a bit of a reprieve. ;)

wip 1.26.13

friday:
a miracle. there are no laundry bins with clothes waiting to be put away. it had been quite some time. had to text nick about the momentous occassion!

dinner that night at the boat with my parents. all you can eat seafood buffet. nick was in heaven. me, not so much. but i love him, so i went. and it was really nice to visit. we don't actually spend that much time with my family. yes, my mom babysits frequently but we don't really have 'real' conversations in passing. and i'm not a big phone talker. i hate it. text me please. ;)

starting off the night.

about 6 plates later... i think we figured out that he had at least 5 pounds of crabs. not to mention all the other random food he ate which included multiple desserts!

headed back to the vip lounge with my parents. my dad got fancy and ordered an espresso... nick had a cappuccino. said it was the best he ever had. and has now been on a cappuccino kick since.

we actually didn't step foot on the gambling side! came home to a quiet house, since beans was enjoying a sleepover with jerbear and gibi.

saturday:
picked ben up and had to go to nick's work.
he's enjoying his new bumblebee phone case. best $4!

and he found the remote on the chairs.

bear down! really wasn't bad. i'm quite picky when it comes to bottled water.

our spread. minus ben's. i had the crazy corn dog without the ben. that would have been way too much breading. was really tasty.

and sleepy ben. i wonder if he was thinking about how good that hot dog was?

and i agree! no ketchup on your dogs. yum. chicago style.

uncle kevin and brittany came to visit. k helped nick move the elliptical from upstairs into the basement. was quite a haul. nick was sore for days.

kevin was nice enough to bring over kfc. so we enjoyed that after they did all the hard work. watched total recall. well, i fell asleep. no surprises there! the boys and brit enjoyed it.

sunday:
had a chocolate chip pancake breakfast, ben's request. then just hung out.

kevin came back over to help nick finish insulating the basement. love that k wants to come over and help.

ben went to visit the boys and came back with all sorts of different toys.

started watching the africa series. it's awesome. i love that kind of stuff. 

i forget where i saw this, but it is completely true. i inhale my food.but it should say 'lunch half hour.'

nick wanted a late evening snack. was made that popcorn, indiana is actually made in new jersey. wtf is that?
