amelia marie: four months.

ben's four month post. 


- weighs 16.1 pounds! holy what?! and is 24.5 inches. 
- started laughing.
- mastered rolling over.
- wearing size 1 diapers. just til we run out. she should be in size 2s!
- in 3-6 month clothing.
- found her feet and loves them. like it's an obsession.
- still blows bubbles like crazy.
- taking 6oz of formula every 3-5 hours during the day.
- sleeping from 9-630 every day!
- is still a pretty chill baby.
- loves holding your thumb.
- fights napping... still.
- likes to be sitting up. i think she's nosey.
- isn't the biggest fan of standing, yet.
- has the cutest inverted squeal. is that what it's called? ugh, i suck.

amelia marie: three months.

ben's three month post.

- sleeps for about 8 hours at night. yes, she's amazing. {and does so much better swaddled.}
- is the cutest talker.
- kicks her legs constantly.
- hates being swaddled and is so good at wiggling herself out.
- still taking about 4 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day.
- is in 0-3 month clothing but is so close to needing to be moved up a size.
- likes to be sitting up. not so much standing, yet.
- cannot keep her hands out of her mouth. preferably her thumb. wakes herself up from naps because she can't keep them out of her face!
- likes to have her feet curled up towards her tummy. 
- is working on earning the nickname 'bubbles'. she blows them like crazy.

amelia marie: two months.

god. i'm a terrible mother. her two month post when she's nearly four months old. gulp.
at least i'm writing it down, right?

ben's two month post.

- 12 pounds 9 ounces and 22.5 inches.
- eating about 24 ounces a day. will sleep for about a 6 hour stretch at night.
- is the calmest baby. seriously, so darn chill. unless she's hungry. but i totally get that! :)
- still in 0-3 month clothing and wearing size one diapers.
- isn't the best napper. fights sleep like her brother did.
- still loves the swing.
- hates socks. she takes after her mom, what can i say? she usually has them off about 5 minutes after you put them on!
- gives the cutest little smiles.
- is a back sleeper. i know that's what she is supposed to do... ben hated it. would only sleep on his stomach. this girl hates being on her stomach. makes tummy time super fun. ;)
- tolerated her first set of shots extremely well. was a little warm and fussy but nothing too terrible.
- the pediatrician asked if she was always this calm. she just watched him examine her. {ben is pretty good with the doctor too. we are lucky.}

her first war wounds. she was not happy after the shots. was my first time holding the baby when they got their shots. that was nick's job with ben.

she really was okay when we got home. i know she looks straight jacket-ed or something. i promise, it's really a smile. 

amelia marie: one month!

here is ben's post. just in case you want to compare the two. ;-)


- she could quite possibly be the nosiest baby ever. grunts and coos all the time. no, it doesn't stop when she is sleeping.

 - weighed in at 11 pounds 1 ounce. at her one month visit. which was a bit late... length is still 20 3/4. never reached that birth length!

 - eats four ounces every three hours.

- has been on lots of adventures: st. john fest, lake county fair, her first movie {despicable me 2}.

- wears 0-3 month clothing.

 - is super calm. only really cries when she's hungry.

- had a serious bout of baby acne.

 - always moving her legs. well, at least one of them. {she did it in utero too. i think she'll be walking soon!} ;)

 - isn't the biggest fan of her car seat.

 - loves the swing.

 - fights sleep like you wouldn't believe.

teeny, tiny baby toes.

i remember thinking back on when ben was a baby and finding it so hard to remember when my hand covered his entire back. ;)

a little look at her strawberry. has one on her neck and higher on her head. also has two little marks on the small of her back. {does this mean she can't have a tramp stamp later in life?}

so bad that my one month post is closer to her two month birthday. oh well. i'm slowly but surely catching up. maybe... hopefully... and the point is just putting it down and remembering it so i have it one day, right?

amelia marie: two weeks.

second child syndrome in full effect. poor girl. blog is way late, she didn't get monthly pregnancy posts, and now, her pictures were all taken with my iphone! eek. not the rebel or even a point and shoot. completely unedited. bad momma. oh well, gotta make some concessions.

mr. ben's two week post is here. 
 

at two weeks:

- made two trips to the doctor. she was a nicu baby so they wanted to follow up with breathing and weight gain since she was strictly breast feeding. at one week she was 8 pounds 5 ounces. her weight when we left the hospital. and at two weeks she was 8 pounds 9 ounces. back up to birth weight. 

- was switched to being bottle fed. home girl played and took forever to nurse. i can pump and feed her in the time it took to nurse. and then i got extra milk to freeze since i was pumping.

- taking about 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours. twenty four hours a day.

- had a real bath!

- is a fan of swaddling.

- has the prettiest blue eyes. {fingers crossed i'm the odd man out with brown eyes in this family.}

- is pretty strong. her neck strength is surprising. {maybe it's because i want her to grow slowly knowing she's the last baby!}

- is very noisy. makes noises the entire time she is asleep.

- can no longer wear newborn diapers. lady bug was in size one when we left the hospital. i guess she has her momma's thighs.

- can fit into some newborn clothing but mostly wears 0-3 mos.
