i know. catchy title. i suck at those.
so the 4/3. it's concering ambulances and work. since monday, we've called 911 four times. seriously. only one was a true emergency. the rest were glorified rides to the hospital. if you count friday's emergency call... we're 5/3. here's hoping we aren't 6/4 tomorrow.

breaking out...

the flips! we are having a heat wave. in the 50s. loving it. cannot wait for spring. to open the windows, to see the flowers bloom and trees bud. so excited. seriously. if we didnt' have all this melting snow... i would be in flips!
i know crazy. blizzard less than a week ago. now balmy. sigh. i love spring.
oh and uber excited about springing ahead. i know i'm getting ahead of myself. but that's not too far off either. more sunlight. yay!
makes me want to get in 'healthier' mode again. been horrible on that front. think it is all winter's fault. it makes me want to be a heffalump. nick's gonna do a marathon. might encourage me to get back into running. but want to do it outdoors. quit the gym. trying to be better financially and neither one of us were going. we shall see. i tend to talk the talk more than walk the walk...
been fighting off a cold. totally stinks. my girlfriend fought the fight for two weeks, then it kicked her ass. this weekend will almost be two weeks. hoping i can prove her wrong!
lots of scrapping. not sharing much. mostly projects for the knk crop and the next issue of rsc. got my hands on some new tinkering ink for rsc. holy cannolis. not sure if i can do it justice. the finery tags are way neat. keeping my fingers crossed that some mojo will slap me in the face!
did figure out how to upload the pics from the new camera, thanks nick. haven't found the time to mess around with photoshop. someday. and when that happens hope to play around with the digi side of the scrapworld. got some free kits and hope to use them, not sure if i have the patience tho!

snow day!!!!

wahooo! no work today. first time as a grown up. so exciting. when i worked at the hospital, there was no such thing. but since we're an office, we can manipulate. ;o)
and considering that ALL local schools are closed, i think it's only fair. found out that two of the doctors from our other office are stuck in d.c. so they might close that office too.
my coworker was to catch a flight out of ohare this morning. hope that all got straightened out!
so yay. snow day!
yesterday one of my docs got stuck in the parking lot. we had to push him out after shoveling a path. absolutely hilarious. i seriously just laid in the snow laughing. good times. the roads weren't too terrible. it was the driveways and parking lots. and i say driveways because nick and i both got stuck in ours! totally digging beatrix the beast. the car drives awesome. loving the 4 wheel drive. first time in the two years we've had it that we have had 'real' snow. the drifts are just amazing. but that's what 30 mph winds will do, huh? tried taking pictures. don't know if it will do it justice andno pictures to share yet. haven't hooked the new camera {just for you, lisa} up to the computer. might have to be adventurous and figure that out today. after i get a boatload of scrapping done.
oh and no 12 on the 12. been too busy. maybe i can add that to my list for today!

28.

i've been around for 28 years as of yesterday. tasty trivia: i've been with nick for half of my life!
had a great weekend. relaxed friday after work. headed to costco. got a fun new camera. a teeny, tiny one. had to replace my aging kodak one. had some buyers doubt. not necessarily remorse since i can take it back due to costco's guarantee. so playing around with it. will develop pics soon, see how i like them, and then go from there.
went to see nick's dad's girlfriend's daughter, brianna, preform at her dance competition on saturday. she's a cutie pie. did great. had dinner with nick's dad's side of the family yesterday at a local mexican restaurant. yum. jerry, michelle, and bre came back to the house and played some yahtzee turbo and uno spin with us. {new addictions after playing with jas and chris on wednesday!}
today was dinner with my family. good times. played yahtzee turbo and watched rv. funny movie. flashed back to my childhood. we used to have a motor home. we would take month long vacations in the summer. travel the country. just the four of us. not so cool then, but awesome to look back at now.
been rocking out to guitar hero. nick convinced me i need to play with him. lovely. the couple that jams together stays together... i guess!
and no freak outs about the birthday. but thought about life in general. really quite happy to be where i'm/we're are at. living, growing, learning. wouldn't really change much so that's a good thing.

thought it might be a sad one since i had a rough day at work on thursday. just one of those days where you need a good cry. please tell me i'm not the only one. ;o) won't go into those details... supposed to be a happy birthday post. don't want to start being sad all over again.

looking forward to seeing and enjoying what 28 has in store for me!

not a good weekend. negative gagillion degrees. frozen pipes. bears lose. blech.
week is starting off better. it made it to the positive side of the thermometer. a whopping one degree. pipes are all unfrozen. no damage to be seen... yet.
did get lots of scrapping done saturday. i was hibernating. refusing to brave those temps!
and on the superbowl... what the heck is up with those bears? they so sucked. indy so deserved to win. happy for peyton and tony and marvin. can't wait to see some new peyton commercials.

new show on mtv. totally knew nothing about it until my dad said something to me. why would my dad know about it? because the show takes place in our county. the juvie center isn't too far from where we live. i drove past it every day when i worked at the hospital... my dad is retired. and he couldn't handle being home so he took up bus driving. yeah, weird but it works for him! well, he's a big guy and i guess they kinda volunteered him to drive the kids from juvie to and from school. fun. he's had quite a few stories to share: calling the cops to pick the kids up is just one!
so he tells me about the show. that he doesn't know if it will ever show him and the bus and curiousity got the best of me. totally tivo'd it yesterday and finally had a chance to watch it. whoa. not sure what i was expecting but it kinda got me by surprise. i mean jail isn't something i think about on a regular basis! so anywho. if you want the website is www.juvies.mtv.com i hate mtv's web pages but it might be worth a shot.

seriously. we were spoiled. such 'warm' winter weather. well, now it's freezing. they say it might not even reach zero over the weekend. sucks! i'm soooo ready for spring! flips. tanks. open windows. lilacs. sigh...
so last weekend wasn't as peaceful as we hoped. friday night the lamp went out in the tv. bummer! no wii. no movies. ack. after a lot of hoops, we drove about an hour away to pick up a replacement lamp. if we didn't pick it up, we would have had to wait for four weeks. i don't think so!
since we drove out so far, i convinced to head to archivers. bad move. lots of money spent. bad shannon.
ended up going out saturday night with some family. good times. hadn't seen them in a while. and since it was part of my resolution we sucked it up eventhough we were feeling like lazy homebodies.
and sunday the relator stopped by. gave us the appraisal on the house. more than i expected. way excited about that. now jerry and michelle are looking into getting preapproved for home loans!
picked out plumbing stuff: sinks, faucets, showers, bathtubs, toilets. getting so much closer. in a few weeks we will sit down and price out all of our decisions to see where we stand and what the next few months will entail.
busy week. dinner at house of kobe, tastefully simple parties, deadlines for rsc, soccer for nick meeting the builders. i thought this year was supposed to wind down... but it's not a franctic busy which i like!
in superbowl news, such a sense of excitement everywhere. can't wait for the game. regardless of the outcome it will be fun! but... go bears!
