wordless wednesday. a favorite flower.

i love daffodils. ;)

i know this is supposed to be wordless but this little flower has a story.

every year nick buys me daffodils. they're one of my favorites. however, i don't have the greenest thumb. so every year die.

last year i decided to throw the bulbs in with the stellas on the side of the deck. had meant to go back and actually plant them, but i never did.

a few weeks ago, found this one growing away... on top of the rocks. and it's still there!

ten on tuesday. 5.10.11

- just curious as to who names slot machines? because does kitty glitter really sound all that gamble-y.
- had a hat trick of 911 calls last week. was a crazy ass day. the paramedics asked when we closed after the third one!
- nick taught me a word last week. {he's a complete smarty pants} portmanteau. i combine and make up my own words all the time sometimes it's intentional and sometimes not so much. last week i used catray {cat scan and xray} and hallucional {hallucinating and delusional}. both were unintentional. my favorite one of all time... ginormous. ;)
- watched inception. good movie. had to stay awake because you had to think the entire time!
- finally learned how to use my sewing machine friday and it was awesome. trying to pick an easy project to tackle first...
- got a picnic table at work. i know, it may not sound that exciting but it totally is! somewhere to sit when escaping from the crazy reps!
- these are delicious. yum. i can't stop snacking on them.
- ben's swingset is officially ordered. yay on finally deciding on one. it's always kinda funny the way things work out...
- summer bowling started tonight. scored me some super cute bowling shoes with my mother's day money {thanks mom!} and i bowled a 160 one game! {the other two were like 120s, so not too shabby!}
- doing the garden this weekend. i hope... so excited. ;)

friday:
ben's first time at tyler's tender. met up with john and the girls, and mike and raymond. ben was in heaven. he loves trains. he didn't want to ride the big one though. he was totally content to just watch. however, after being there for a while and seeing that everyone else survived, he was in!

easter #2.

ten on tuesday... 5.3.11

- i love it when i tell ben goodbye in the morning and give him a kiss and tell him that i love him, he says, 'daddy' and points. he wants me to give nick a goodbye kiss. usually, after we kiss. ben instructs us, 'group hug.' so precious.
- today i experienced a first in my nursing career. i was asked by a patient, if i would marry him!
- i cannot get enough of this sunlight. makes me a happy girl. ;)
- i took a reusable bag into walgreens last night. the cashier told me she looked everywhere and couldn't find a price tag. had to tell her i brought my own and if she looked everywhere, don't you think the bed, bath, and beyond printed on the bottom of the bag would have tipped her off?
- i dislike mean people. and selfish ones. just saying.
- a new fun app that i'm enjoying: gas buddy. if you consider shopping for gas fun...
- ben's obsesson with balls. is out of control. seriously. my family room is overtaken by all sorts: basket, soccer, base, foot, bouncy, golf. it's ridic.
- painted my toenails electric blue last night. thanks aunt michelle!
- the swing set project is started! nick stayed home today and did lots of yard work for it. his exact text to me... 'omg. this is back-breaking. a 3 ft roll of sod {4.8 sq ft} at 2.5 inches deep, weighs about 60-70 pounds. i'm doing 680 sq ft so around 4 tons. i'm going to die.' and fyi. he didn't. he's alive and super sore!
- found this app. might be able to upload some videos a bit easier to this blog from my phone! yay.

jewelry

i don't own much. but my collection is growing. i was becoming beyond frustrated with the jewerly drawer we had built into our closet.
so i recently attacked my jewelry drawer and came up with a much more organized solution. i love it!
i got this over the door hook at target.
i put all of my necklaces on the lower hooks. on the upper ones, i have my bracelets and watches.
but then i wasn't sure what to do with my rings. decided that i should check out etsy and see if i could find anything that was reasonably priced. and i did!
it came today. ;) it's beyond cute. nick called it my dr. seuss ring holder and i can totally see it!
yay for minor house projects that make me feel more organized and happy!
