mother's day recap

in pictures.

friday.
no pictures! lazy, rainy day at home. ben did get a goose egg on his forehead. had a mishap on the stairs with daddy. didn't think to take a picture. oh and i'm pretty sure we ran to target! it's a must on fridays.

saturday.
wee man slept til 8 am! we can usually get 7 o'clock. maybe 730 out of him on weekends. was so great! had our dirt and composte delivered for our garden boxes. was freaking cold. nick was a champ and got everything done before his family came over for our mom's day festivities.

still there. however, our neighbor did try to use the blower on it when he cut our grass. thinking these monsoons that are headed our way will take care of the rest!

ran some errands. his and hers. then came home and got the house ready for our first get together.

ben helped dad with the laundry.

didn't really take the camera out until later in the evening.  someone spotted a rainbow. i believe it was nick's sister. the pictures do NOT do the rainbow{s} justice!

there was a random game of elefun. yeah, we're grown ups. whatever. we had fun and so did ben!

ben had a blast with his cousin megan. he loves her and she is sooo great with him.

dvr'd betty white on snl. must watch sometime soon. have heard nothing but good things about her!

sunday:
i got to sleep in. ben got nick up early. 6am. mommy slept til almost 10! i love alternating mornings so we usually get one day to sleep in.
got some yard work done before my family came over.

still needs a bit more work. they were out of control!

ben isn't much of a tv watcher. occasionally sportscenter will catch his attention, or a catchy jingle on a commercial. {it's so cute, he'll start dancing.} any who, the other day we happened to have wheel of fortune on. he was mesmerized! i recorded it for emergencies!

happy early mom's day to me.
yes, i posted that the kindle was my mother's day gift. 
but nick said that was from him, and he needed something to get me from ben. awww. so i asked for this.
it came today. so excited. i haven't had a chance to play with it. more than likely won't have a chance until this weekend, but i can't wait!

weekend in photos.

holy cow. was it a busy one!
took a zillion pictures. was fun trying to grab my camera more. and encouraging nick to grab the camera more too!

friday.
ben and mommy day.
he naps early for me... not so much at daycare. i didn't even have a chance to put him in his crib!
if you look closely on the second picture you can see the carpet imprints on his face and arm. 

then it was off to target. i love target. i swear ben's gonna learn target soon! then i'm going to be embarrased. hmmm. at least it isn't mcdonalds...

they were passing out ben sized samples. he of course, had to have my straw. and did enjoy a bit of whipped topping too!

then it was off to the car wash. he's always mesmerized!

went over to babysit wynn and braiden for a few hours in the afternoon. oof. that was serious.  i think ben was the hardest because he was mobile!

was a complete binky-fest!

then it was off to costco when dad got home.
ben of course, needed a snacky from the sample lady!

on the first try, not bad if i don't say so myself! ;-)

the costco trunk. and we're heading back this friday for mother's day festivities... sigh. that store is dangerous!

garden day.
nick ran to get lumber for the garden boxes and rented a tiller.

had to stake out where the garden was going.

nick even tilled at my parents house. it's a small price to pay when you borrow their car to haul the tiller! and grandma was kind enough to babysit ben for a bit so i could do some scrap shopping. it was national scrapbook day! {and come to find out i won a prize for stopping in! yay!}

there was an outfit change in there. daddy dumped {okay ben spilled} and a half full bottle of vitamin water on ben! and it got a bit colder, yay purdue sweatshirts. thanks auntie!

he's a daredevil. has to go down the slide on his stomach...

and loves it when daddy throws him in the air. LOVES it.

another crazy, busy day.
had tom and jen's shower. yes, i took a picture of one of the games. i lost. just an fyi.

i told you he loves hampers! and nick was a good dad/husband and entertained me and the weekend in pictures and took these while i was at the shower. ;-)

and that darn benny goat again. 

when i got back from the shower, i had time to do some yardwork.  and nick finished the garden boxes!

then it was off to volleyball. our final games of the season. silly scheduling mishaps. were there forever before we could start and played in some of the most exhausting games of the season. happy to say we won! yay t-shirts!! boo soreness two days later!

there's a vampire

at ben's daycare.
but i think since it's a baby vampire, their aim is off.
they bite cheeks instead of necks....

according to the 'ouch report' ... 'ben was climbing behind a child on the playground and the child turned around and bit him.'

ah, the joys of parenthood. poor wee man. he's fine though! hasn't deterred his stinker spirit at all this evening. ;-)
