march 2011 shuttercal.

another month done!
so cool just to see a quick recap of each month!

you can see march's here. ;)

wip 4.16.11

i'm on a roll!

since i'm playing catch up, i'm trying to cut down on pictures...
bean and i stayed home and lounged around. i think his favorite activity of the day was jumping on all of the couch cushions that i had piled on to the floor for him.
in the evening i headed to girl's night with nick's mom. dinner at leroys and listening to a bad. was finally nice to meet this johnny that i've heard oh so much about!

st. john easter egg hunt.

family photo. it was a not so nice day. rainy, windy, and cold.

happened to run into the coopers. ;)
the kids are ready!

but momma look at all those eggs... can i go now?

the hunt was nice for a few moments. then poof, it was over. i blame the crazy parents. really, does your kid need 29 eggs? how about we share? sigh, at least it gives me an opportunity to teach my child how not to act...

ben's loot.

enjoying some candy he snagged out of one of his eggs while holding his new basket. {thanks for sharing braiden!}

his face makes me smile.

the empty egg.

then we went home and warmed up.
and in the evening, nick and i headed to coopershawk for a couple's night. didn't take many pictures at dinner. but did snap this one at baker's square.
we happened to be across the street from where nick's family was going to meet after seeing someone in the family perform in their high school play.
was a late, fun night!
and i quickly changed this one to black and white because it was an awful yellow color but i loved the picture.

nothing too exciting. did go and pick up a toy for ben. found it on craigslist, so we had to drive to illinois. but it's totally worth it since it was for about 1/3 of the price of new!

wip 4.9.11

gonna play some serious catch up!
{helps that i'm writing this in advance... it's nice and quiet, both of the boys are sleeping!}

kind of a crummy day out. but after being cooped up inside all day, ben wanted to go out. so we bundled up and played with his car for a bit.
seriously, one of the best purchases ever. we even bring it inside and do laps around the house!

then we had family over to celebrate some birthdays. ;)
there was lots of fun with balloons.  i think noah got the most enjoyment out of them.

and the cousins played with window clings.

and finishing up the evening with some mario.

gorgeous day. so we decided to take a bike ride. {we were secretly checking out all the swingsets in the neighborhood!}
while nick was getting the bikes all ready, ben and i were just playing in the driveway.

wishing his legs were a bit longer so he could ride his new tricycle.

bouncing his new balls down the driveway.

checking out the bike carrier.

after naps, grandma came to watch ben so nick and i could run some errands.
smoothie king. ;) a whole family of them!

beans enjoying his. love those chubby lil fingers. and his hand all curled up because he didn't want to put down the flower he found.

playing on the old playset. yay for friends who loan toys!

checking out our new chairs!

and finding one of his most favorite things... an airplane.

breakfast with the coopers. ;) but before that apparently, ben felt the need to exercise with his uber cute headband!

miss wynn. doesn't she look like boo from monster's inc?

friends. walking to the park. so cute!

the kids had a blast at the park. we met up with some more friends and had a bunch of kids running and playing. so nice! and nick had fun playing softball.

i couldn't get ben to leave.  as soon as he hit the carseat, he was asleep.

then it was time to head over to trisha's for surprise birthday festivities.
ben loves noah and gabby's play house. he plays with it every time we are there.

cousins. not sure why but ben was obsessed with the window. maybe because we only have the sliding glass door for him to see out of...

then it was bubble time in the yard. nick and ben had a good time!

phew. i'm exhausted just writing about it!
hoping to catch up on the rest soon. ;)

ten on tuesday.

not sure if that's a real thing or not.
but since i've been away for so long, i thought it might be useful to catch up a bit. ;)

- i'm addicted to the hunger game series. seriously, you need to read them.
- cannot stop playing words with friends. if you have the ability to play {i think you can play through facebook too}, find me.
- love random emails, texts, and facebook messages. they make me smile.
- am loving my hybrid. 45 mpg on a regular basis. thank you very much little miss hybrid.
- went to starbucks on earth day for their free coffee/tea with my reusable cup, however i felt like a complete ass because i had just left the grocery store with like 17 plastic bags. {nick wasn't totally listening when i asked him to take them out of his car before he left for work!}
- i cannot wait for ben to have his swingset. we've narrowed it down to two... hope to decide and order it by this weekend!
- i need to go buy new fake flowers for in front of the house. yeah, i'm pathetic.
- am loving my new water bottle. even if it did take some getting used to!
- nick and i signed up for a summer bowling league with some friends. cannot wait!
- i've had my current job for 8 years this month. i don't feel old enough to have had a 'real' job for 8 years! and when i think about how long i've been a nurse, it makes me feel that much older! i'm happy as can be at this job and honestly can't see myself working anywhere else. even on the bad days.

not sure why i've been on a blogging break.
we've been busy. there's always lots going on. but for some reason, i just didn't have the desire.
i always get mad at myself when i stop.
i love going back over the years and rereading what i've written.
i love seeing what we do on our always crazy weekends. heck, i can't remember what i did two weekends ago! this totally jogs my memory.
so i'm making an effort to get back into the habit of blogging.
i'm not going to let myself feel pressured about the posts. sometimes i worry that they might be a bit lame. or boring. or redundant. but it's mine and i can do what i want. ;)
and i want to remember our life. as lame or boring or redundant as it might be! ;P

12 on the 12th.... it's back!

- am so emotionally conflicted right now it sucks. so happy for one friend, yet so sad for another....
- am diggin adele's new cd. ;)
- am totally excited for date night with nick on saturday. <3
- watched due date last night. well, i fell asleeep... but i finished it this morning. made me laugh!
- not sure i'm feeling this month's photo hunt challenge.
- am thinking i might give up sad books for a while. this one is taking a toll on me. think it has to do with my profession and maybe a little bit of bad timing. and i think it might deserve a whole post at a later time.
- wishes that i wouldn't have such high expectations of people.
- had grilled hot dogs for the first time this year. i'm so ready for the season change. bring on spring!
- am enjoying this. in sweet tea.
-am super excited to see this season of food revolution.
- and on that note... am looking forward to the garden this year! already have two topsy turvey's and a strawberry pot!
- after years of longing for an adirondack chair, we're the proud owner of three. yay!

wip 4.2.11

my mom was on spring break, so she watched ben and i went in to help out at work. was nice seeing some of the patients i hadn't seen in a while. so weird to think i haven't regularly worked on fridays for two years.
only worked a half a day and then came home and spent time we the wee man.
that evening nick and i headed to the boats with my parents. we try to go for my dad's birthday, we were running a bit behind this year!
had so much fun. need to do this quarterly or something!

cheers to the birthday dad!

nick's turn!

nick's drunk. my dad's laughing at him! :)

say cheese mom.

the always mandatory self portrait!

the final drink of the evening. a tasty french martini.

me, texting for the drunk hubs. see next photo...

the two drunkards.

my first time gambling in ages. i would rather buy something. but my $20 lasted quite some time!

my mom gets excited and points out all the flashiness on the screen. it's quite funny... notice her hand...

we're heading home. love the flip photo feature on the new iphones. wish the flash worked that way too though!

my side of the family came over for ben's birthday festivities. last one!

family photo.

ben singing happy birthday to himself. it's quite funny.

doing his thing with the bow!

new bubbles!

say cheese for daddy...

cousin matthew helping me play with my new goodies.

i want a turn with the bubbles.

grandma's turn to play with the bubbles!

lazy morning.  sorta.
started off just chilling. nick used the juicer again....

did someone say beet juice?

our new window clings. they make me happy. however, the frog has since died. so sad... {ha, the frog isn't even in the picture. maybe that was a bad omen...}

went outside to do some yard work. was insanely windy. so we came in early.

then bill and john brought the girls over to run around and play. was nice to sit and chat while the kids ran wild.

ben and gabby chilling on his couch.

was a great weekend!
