to those chicago cha-ers...

i finally used my gift card. sad, i know. but with the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad thing called construction we've been staying far, far away. that's a lot of damn commas in that sentence. and i probably didn't use half of em correctly! makes my momma proud, i'm sure!
nick and i went to see a play yesterday. our date night. try to see at least one play a year, this was it... putnam county spelling bee. sooo funny. glad we were able to see it before it left the city. if you have a chance to see it, i would recommend it. we laughed our behinds off!
again, anywho.
i convinced him to swing by windy city scrapbooking before hand. made us miss a dinner out, but hey. what's a girl to do? we did nab a snack before the play and got california pizza kitchen for the road home... ate it in the car. romantic date night, i know!
so i was going to behave and only use the gift card amount but that's almost impossible. especially when they had hambly, new heidi swapp {lots of new hs}, ki mini soup, new basic grey, new ki stamps, american craft flowers, and some sassafras lass i've been eyeing for some time!
totally dented the budget. and nick didn't help. "look this is cute." "i'm supposed to look for papers that say hambly... is this what you wanted?" "don't pick one. get both." i'm mean how sexy is that?! ;o) he's a sweetie pie. and so cute standing there holding the basket trying to look bored but he's secretly feeling the paper {because "it's bumpy and shiny and cool feeling"}and scanning the racks for items he knows and proudly pointing them out to me!
here's two pics. not the greatest... cut off some of the items but thought i should share what you girls helped me purchase. THANK YOU! i had a blast and we do it all over again in a heartbeat!

10 years.

a freaking decade. unbelievable. totally doesn't seem like i've been out of high school that long... which could be both a good thing and a bad thing. i think.

25. Who was your home room teacher?? no home room teacher.

and if you made it this far.... thanks. a secret for you. i bought a REBEL! omg, totally freaked. but did it. have yet to play with it but way excited! did it on a whim at costco since they are changing their return policy. figure why not... i wanted it anyway! gosh, we are bad a budgets.

woke up to snow on the ground. snow. i mean, it was only 70 degrees the day before. sigh.
in happy news. i'm in love. coke zero. regular and cherry. had only tried the cherry and was quite pleased. my crazy self accidently bought the regular when i went shopping. was quite scared that i would be disappointed. wasn't. it's heaven! i so do not do the diet pop thing. not sure why, just has a funny taste to it. this stuff... just like the real thing. so exciting because i love my coca-cola. totally take a coke over pepsi any day! and i hear it mixes wonderfully with rum. yum. gonna have to give that a whirl this weekend. all about low cal alternatives now that i'm trying to be healthier. yeah, i'm trying. AGAIN!
i blame yoga. however, our instructor got all serious on me yesterday. not sure if i'm ready for that extreme. but i still like it! and we really don't say ohm. i just feel like we should. and susan, thanks for spelling namaste. nick can't get over such a small word that has sooo much meaning!
we went out and bought our own starter kits. so now we have mats, straps, and blocks. and a dvd if we are interested. are going to try to add it to our schedule. maybe saturday afternoons. after cartoons. kidding. no cartoons. don't get up that early! ;oP
want to dig up the yoga book my mom bought me ages ago. maybe it will help jog our memory when we try to do our 'homework' this weekend. the instructor did give us a cheat sheet... i might need the drawings to figure it all out tho!
oh and one more thing... i'm really not a girly girl. but the girlier flips come out after the snow and mud and rain go away. so you'll have to live with this pair of black ones for now. they are way more functional: black = no nasty mud ruining them. wedge = protect you from the giant puddles in parking lots! ;0)
totally need to take a picture of all my flips. i even have two of the same pair. did that on purpose. happened on the cruise from hell. hoped we would get reimbursed and they were the only ones i liked on the island!

big tease.

dude. the weather is phenomenal. LOVE it. kinda bummed because i know it's only temporary. a total tease. but i did whip out the flips. rocked them the whole weekend! my little toesies are diggin the fresh air. they hate socks/shoes. ;o)
i know you are so excited to see my feet. bet you hope for them all the time when you log on to this silly little blog! wasn't really an intentional picture. just kinda had my feet propped up there while i was taking pics of nick at soccer, saw them, and thought... why not?!
ignore the pasty color. it's winter. and i'm a total white girl. and no polish. such a rareity for me. but again, it's winter and i'm lazy on the upkeep!
and how pathetic. a whole post on feet and flips...

is it spelled like the electricity stuff? you know what i'm saying. when you sit around and chant. ohm. seriously. no clue what my deal is. totally enjoyed yoga tonight. kinda freaked by how much i'm enjoying it. might have to cave in and buy my own mat! and who knew your heart could race by just contorting yourself and trying to stand still all while taking slow, regular breaths. kidding. but shit, it can be a work out! honestly, really glad we're participating.
lots to do by the end of the week. not sure i'll get it done. asked last minute to do a project for a party. totally procrastinating. not sure if i will. don't want to totally be the yes woman who gets taken advantage of. can give it to the person at a later date... hopefully, i won't back down. or if i do back down. which i probably will. i won't kill myself in trying to do it. just an altered frame... but still.
updated my gallery. it's over there -----> somewhere. lots of stuff from the latest rsc issue. really kinda like the pace of it there. two months. so nice. can still get a ton done and not seem completely overwhelmed!
and two posts in two days. something is wrong with me... nah, just thinking i might not be back in slacker land this weekend! ;o)

describes my feelings as of late. no clue what my deal is. just have no motivation what-so-ever. kinda sucks. but sometimes it's kinda nice to be lazy. hoping this phase will pass soon! maybe springing ahead will help. not that i'm not already enjoying sunlight until 6pm because i so am. kinda makes me giddy when i get up in the morning and the sun is out and when i get home at night it's still out. and yes, i use double negatives. ;0P
thinking my bubble gut is returning as well. been talking more about the house{s} lately and my stomach hates me. i don't really think i'm worrying, but i guess i am.
been delving into some other recreational activities. that sounds wrong. just meaning not scrapping as much. been reading, doing sudoku again, trying and failing miserably at crossword puzzles {i blame wordplay}, and have been using the heck out of that library card of mine {check out reading rainbow in the sidebar if you're interested in what i mindlessly select at the library}. aiming for a book a week. kinda nice. don't get me wrong, i'm not gonna give up my scrapping. want to make sure i make time for other things. i've always been a bookworm and puzzle freak. just trying to find a compromise i guess.
still planning on yoga tomorrow. maybe that will relax me. who knows!
oh and have done pilates before. winsor pilates to be more specific. did it about 4-5 years ago. loved it. just kinda fell out of it. i guess my whole fear with yoga was the group activity factor. helped that the lights were off! really want to get back into pilates, just have to figure out how to use the vcr downstairs. darn technology! also heard a lot about the ten minute tapes. might have to look into those too!

hmmm. been up to a bunch a nothing. lounged around this past weekend. had the crop at knk but i was drained. no clue why. so i was a complete lazy bum. only did one page! and some how got sucked into a marathon on mtv of america's next top model. what is that about?!
finally able to meet up with nick's mom on tuesday for my birthday. way late. but better late than never. went to tgi fridays. wanted to try their new green beans. um. hello. so yummy. i could have ate another plate! the wasabi dipping sauce so good! while at dinner, nick's mom started talking about her yoga class. i mentioned that i have always wanted to try it. next thing you know, nick and i are at yoga class yesterday!
not what i thought it would be. but not at a studio or anything. the lady was really nice and quite helpful. i'm so not flexible and thought i would look like a total fool. it truly wasn't that bad. nick liked it too, so we are now signed up for a six week session!
kinda think the timing was right or it was meant to be somehow. could be me way overanalyzing because i totally do that. but she talked A LOT about breathing or prana to the yoga peeps. breathing is so my word for the year. kinda needed that reinforcement right about now.
oh and to all the posters... thanks! makes me smile when i get a reply in my inbox! really appreciate you delurking! ;o) and to the rest of ya... ;oP
